Wood Turner is project director of Climate Counts, a non-profit organization launched by organic yogurt pioneer Stonyfield Farm, bringing consumers and companies together in the fight against climate change. A marketing, outreach and policy strategist, his experience spans the for-profit, non-profit and government sectors, and is unified by his focus on corporate social responsibility, environmental stewardship and advocacy. Turner has worked with a number of organizations to broaden the base of people engaged by brands and ideas that make a difference, among them Flexcar, Intel, the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency and the Seattle Mayor’s Green Ribbon Commission on Climate Protection (associated with the U.S. Mayors’ Climate Protection Agreement). In the mid-1990s, he was central to the team that developed Urban Ecology’s "Blueprint for a Sustainable Bay Area," a leading-edge vision presenting actionable ways for non-activists to live with purpose. He also built and managed an e-magazine teaching international audiences about constructive innovations by businesses, organizations and individuals. Turner has a master’s degree in urban and environmental planning from the University of Washington and a bachelor’s degree from Duke University. He was raised in North Carolina and is the father of three.
