Rock veterans Tommy Shaw of Styx and Jack Blades of Night Ranger have been learning about the burgeoning biodiesel industry on their current Shaw/Blades acoustic tour. After signing with BidForGreen to provide quality biofuel, the group has received biodiesel in numerous locations, including California, Missouri, Illinois, New York and Maryland. On Friday, they even got to pump some.
BidForGreen provides quality biofuel to everyone, from touring musicians to movie studios. They want everyone to know they can do it for school districts and trucking fleets as well. "People are interested to hear the stories about their heroes like Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades," said
BidForGreen president Dale Wiley, "but we want them to be biodiesel heroes as well. Biodiesel solves so many problems, from decreasing greenhouse gases and asthma- and cancer-causing pollutants to decreasing our dependency on foreign oil. It just makes great sense."
Many media outlets have picked up on the rockers' quest to go green. VH1 Classic and Westwood One reported on the pact, as did many on-line sources.
